Passerby + A Handful of Prayers and Vaccine Be

“Passerby” by Dongyi Wu focuses on the impressions of the streets, aiming to capture the momentary observations evoked on streets, by the passersby or people pictured in the street style photos in fashion magazines. Wu transfers these quick images into wearable jewelry pieces.

Both series by Hans-Otto Ojaste seek to develop new, unexpected associations. “A handful of prayers” compares the act of eating sunflower seeds, which is a familiar sight in the streets, to using prayer beads, while “Vaccine Be” exemplifies – in an esoteric context – the conflicts that have developed in the society due to the pandemic.
