My work was selected for the main exhibition. When and where to do I send my work?
The deadline for sending chosen works is 1 March, 2017. The address for sending the works is: Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design / Lai 17, 10133 / Tallinn, Estonia. I am planning to come to Tallinn for the opening of the triennial. What is the time schedule?
The opening weekend of the 7th Tallinn Applied Art Triennial is from 20 until 23 April 2017. There are different events taking place – openings of the satellite exhibitions on 20 April, a seminar entitled “Modes of mediating applied art and design” and opening of the main exhibition will take place on 21 April, artist talks and excursions on 22 April. The programme covers the whole weekend. A detailed programme will be published in January 2017.

Can the work submitted for the main exhibition be exhibited before the triennial?
Works have to be created not earlier than in 2013 and they can be exhibited before the triennial.
Is the competition of the main exhibition acquisitive?
The international jury will award prizes to selected works. All works (including the ones which will receive the prizes) will be sent back to the artists after the exhibition.
Can I submit the information about my work for the main exhibition via other channels as well e.g Wetransfer?
The work can be submitted only through the Defol.io platform.
How do I set up my account in Defolio?
Signing up to Defolio is super simple — just confirm it via Twitter, Facebook or your Google account and you’re ready to go. However, please note that the organizers of the triennial may need to get in touch with you once you have decided to take part of the competition. Thats why we highly recommend filling out your account info fields. How do I submit my work in Defolio?
Press the button “Submit your work now”, add photos and all the necessary info. a) What kind of attachments can be added? 1–5 digital photographs of the work or series of works, which will later be used in the exhibition catalogue, must be uploaded. The format of the photographs should be jpg, 300 dpi, 210×297 mm or 6300×8700 px (each photograph can be a maximum of 8 MB). The works in the photographs must be photographed in front of a single-colour background using diffused lighting. The photographs should show both a general view and a detail of the work. b) Details Make sure you add all the necessary info to your submission – title of the work/series, year of completing, materials used, sizes, short description (concept for the work) the work/series, author and postal address (we will send you the catalogue of the triennial to this address). c) Save the submission when you have added photographs and all the necessary info. 2_submit your work
Can I change the information submitted for the main exhibition?
You can change the information before the application deadline 10 October 2016, by logging in to your Defol.io account. Here you can find a step-by-step guide: instruction
How do I pay an entry fee for the submitted work?
A non-refundable entry fee of 30 € (+VAT) per application is required. To submit their works applicants must pay the total sum through Defol.io. Once you have saved your entry and are ready to pay for it, go ahead and find the payment link inside your submission page. The entry fee can be payed by credit card or by downloading the invoice from Defolio and paying via bank transfer or PayPal. When you pay via bank transfer, please note that the beneficiary’s name is Edicy OÜ. You will receive a confirmation of your successful payment to your e-mail address that you’ve set up under the account settings. A copy of the paid invoice will be also attached if you need to forward it to your accountant. 3_ready for paying 4_paying for the submission
Can an other person pay an entry fee for the submitted work instead of an applicant?
Yes. The applicant can download the invoice from Defolio platform and forward it to the payer. It is important to write the invoice number to the payment order though. Please also note that the beneficiary’s name is Edicy OÜ.
How can I download an invoice in Defolio?
Just click on the ‘Download invoice’ option inside the shopping cart, its right next to the credit card links. Once the submission has been paid for via bank transfer, Defolio’s accountant will deliver the payment inside the Defolio interface within the next 24 hours.
